Medical Science Liaison (m/f/d)

The MSL is a remote role focused on developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts in the fields of dermatology, oncology, nuclear medicine and radiology. The MSL will collaborate with physicians and other medical experts to support treatments, referral networks, trial enrollment, training and ensure that health care professionals have the most up to date information.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts in the dermatology, oncology, nuclear medicine and radiology communities
  • Collaborate with physicians on medical affairs initiatives including publications, advisory boards, medical education opportunities, training, and speaker development
  • Serve as scientific peer-to-peer resource to external indication experts and internal stakeholders
  • Support the medical community with up-to-date medical information, robust disease expertise, and product information
  • Communicate clinical insights on new data to the company Medical Affairs and to inform medical strategy for the therapeutic area
  • Support of a medical registry / clinical studies and their execution in close cooperation with the Medical Director / Advisor
  • Train internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics in relevant therapeutic area
  • Develop an understanding of the regional landscape including specialties involved in care of patients
  • Maintain effective and appropriate communication among internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance with relevant requirements
  • Generate tactical regional plans to provide needs based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goals
  • Strategically map, identify, profile and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and    goals
  • Support clinical development initiatives including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of final approved data
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of all activities


Cross-functional collaboration with sales and marketing:

•      Support for internal and external study projects

•      Support of other internal key stakeholders such as Marketing and Market Access

•      Implementation of the medical strategy in the field in close coordination with the cross-functional teams


Education, Qualification:

  • A degree in natural sciences or Certified Pharma Referent
  • Languages: Fluent English is required, German, third language is a plus



  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Science role in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry as MSL, Pharma referent or in a comparable position
  • Well-established networks and active relationships with KOLs in the dermatology, oncology, nuclear medicine or radiology community is strongly preferred


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A good understanding of compliance considerations
  • Work compliantly in a field-based role, within the medical and commercial organization
  • Energetically embraces responsibilities, demonstrates ability to achieve goals
  • Has strong initiative, and functions well as part of a cross-functional team
  • Must be pro-active team player, flexible, and ability to work in ambiguous situations
  • Exhibits excellent time management and ability to work independently
  • Experience in a start-up environment a plus



  • Office is home based
  • High Travel requirements
  • Required travel to medical meetings, team meetings, and other group meetings (will require some weekends)
